“Actions speak louder than words.” You’ve heard – and probably said – the phrase countless times. When it comes to Christianity, there is no truer saying. Our actions show God, and others, how authentic our love and faith in Him truly are.
I grew up in the church, and have seen some of the most genuine, committed individuals as well as those most manipulated – the ones that claim to be Christian, yet there does not seem to be anything Christian about their life. The truth is: we are all just one step away from becoming “that guy.”
How do we avoid being a fake Christian and stay committed to the love and Word of God?
In this episode, I share with you three essential steps to avoid being a fake Christian by leading a more meaningful, authentic life.
Step One – Work Hard to Dispel Sin
- Be honest about your sin. Don’t just identify it. Do something about it.
Step Two – Work Hard to Dispel Doubt
- We reap what we sow. Spend less time watching T.V. and more time nurturing and growing your relationship with God.
Step Three – Work Hard to Dispel a Double Life
- If you find yourself becoming “that guy,” make an effort to change your behavior. Develop a positive habit of eliminating your double life to build a more meaningful, authentic future.
