My brother said to me, “I think that I am afraid of God more than I fear God.” This honest statement echoed within my own soul. I contemplated the way I view God and the shallow attempts I make to appease Him in order to somehow restrain He wrath. There are things I say – or don’t say to Him – that are said out of ignorance and being afraid of Him rather than out of obedience and fearing Him. When we are afraid of God we will not be vulnerable with Him. This cowardly view of God exposes a deeper problem, and that is, that we have a finite view of our infinite God.

He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD.
(Psalm 40:3 ESV)

  1. May we ALL understand the infinite nature, grace and love of what God has done for us and who HE is…….this song by Casting Crowns, especially the chorus is in my head a lot lately! Maybe I should stop hitting repeat on the cd player in the car:-))))

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth,
would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star
Would choose to light the way,
    For my ever wandering heart?
Not because of who I am, But because of what you’ve done,
Not because of what I’ve done, But because of who you are
I am a flower quickly fading, Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean, A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I’m calling, Lord, you catch me when I’m falling, And you’ve told me who I am, I am yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin, Would look on me with love, And watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea, Would call out through the rain, And calm the storm in me?
Not because of who I am, But because of what you’ve done,
Not because of what I’ve done, But because of who you are……

All I know is, afraid or fear, I AM HIS!
    Have a GRAND DAY!
