This is without a doubt one of the hardest of the parables to exegete. I struggled with this passage for nearly twice as many hours as it takes to prep a normal sermon. Therefore, I feel it is all the more important to give my resources away for this sermon. Here are my files:
Study Notes For Luke 19.11-27 – A six-page, nearly 5,000 word summary of my study for the sermon.
Sermon Outline – The document that I took to the stage to preach.
Luke 19.11-27 Small Group Leader’s Guide – I did not write this, but it is used by our small groups at Mission Hills as the “Pulpit Curriculum”.
You can listen the sermon here.
A personal note: This sermon gave me deep inspiration to life my life to the fullest. We are not in a competition, yet we have the high calling to steward our lives well. Spend all you have for the Gospel. Make a spiritual profit for our King!
