A commercial was playing on the radio as I turned the corner into my office parking lot. I was rather tuned out until the voice in the 30-second spot said, “There is nothing better to have on these fields than the farmer’s footprint.”
The commercial was about organic vegetables, tenderly cared for and grown to supply our local Safeway supermarket. However, the statement was as just as true about life as it was about vegetables. God is our creator and our sustainer. He provides for our every need in order to grow us in the way He desires for us to be.
The care of our farmer – God Himself – is evident if we will take the time to observe it. His footprints around the garden of my life prove that He is at work.Though at times I may hate the fertilizer of truth or the pruning of repentance, there are great purposes behind His every move.
There is nothing better than His footprints upon the soil of my soul, for it means that He is close and tending to me. The pressure of His presence upon me leaves the sweetest of all impressions.
