Dealing with fear can be a relentless fight for sanity. Our imagination can run wild and anxiety can hold us tight in its grip. The Bible commands us to “fear not” and trust God. I have created a five day devotional series for both families and individuals.
In this devotional series a person will learn:
- Who God is as the great Shepherd
- What God promises to do for those who keep their faith in Him
- How courage can be increased
- The importance of changing perspectives to overcome discouragement
- Why Jesus Christ’s presence in our life helps us over come fear
Every day in this series has an individual devotional that has four sections:
- Begin with Scripture reading and reflection questions
- Digging deeper in the background of the passage and contextual meaning
- Applying it to life, finding purpose and application of the passage for daily life
- Spiritual practice suggestions to focus on for that day
Every day in this series has a family devotional that will:
- Give a passage to read together as a family
- Provide some probing questions to prompt conversation, no matter the age of those in your family
- Outline a family activity to do together
- Give a suggested parent story to be shared
- Provide memory verse to work on for the day as a family
I hope this series helps you as much as it did me! I was so encourage to study these passages related to the ultimate Shepherd. We have every reason to have unfailing courage because of God’s presence in our life. Remember, the fear of God blots out all other fears. Press on and stay faithful to God who remains faithful to you!
