We are not a wrecked people. We find our comforts close at hand and our convictions deeply hidden.

I am beginning to understand that this is terribly wrong.

God has a desire for us to feel the weight of His pain but also the relief to know that it is ultimately His to reconcile.

This week in a staff prayer time at Mission Hills Church, we were reminded by Daniel Henderson of the high calling to feel anguish over the things that weight heavy on the heart of God. Though this reminder came uninvited, it is well deserved. If I am to speak to others about God, or speak to God about others, I must be burdened by the spiritual transactions related to souls that is taking place.

In the following video you will hear a clip of a sermon by David Wilkerson on “The Call to Anguish.” If you would like to hear the sermon in its entirety, you can do so here. I encourage you to take seven minutes and watch this video. If you are in in tune to God’s voice, I am sure He use these moments and the days following to help you see and feel what He experiences without pause.

Don’t just be moved emotionally.

Be moved to your knees.
